Mama June says daughter Honey Boo Boo, 15, still lives with her sister as her father Sugar Bear ‘doesn’t speak’ to teen

MAMA June said her daughter Honey Boo Boo, 15, still lives with her sister Pumpkin, as her dad Sugar Bear “doesn’t speak” to the teen.

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has been in her sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird’s care ever since June “Mama June” Shannon went on a drug-fueled bender with her boyfriend Geno Doak in 2019.

She said Sugar Bear only sees his daughter when filming

Alana is currently in her older sister Lauryn’s care

On last season’s Mama June: From Not to Hot: Family Crisis, Alana’s stepmom Jennifer Lamb pushed Sugar Bear to fight for custody of the teen.

In an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report, Mama June said her daughter will “definitely be staying with Pumpkin where she is currently today.”

She told The Celeb Report: “Hell no! The real reality of that is the only time Sugar Bear does have to do with Alana is when he’s in production. There is no communication. None, none! Besides when we are in production.

“It’s kind of like ‘hey,’ do whatever he needs to do and then it’s gone. It’s not, ‘Hey I want to spend time with her after.’ It’s been that way now for 15 years. It is what it is.”

Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson declined to comment when contacted by The Celeb Report.

Sugar Bear’s wife Jennifer Lamb pushed him to get custody of Alana

When asked if Mama June wants custody of her youngest daughter back one day, she responded: “Who knows the possibilities right now. She’s still with Pumpkin honestly. Who knows what will happen in the future.”

Last season, viewers watched as Alana auditioned for entertainment gigs.

Mama June said of her daughter’s future: “I’ve always told the kids whatever you want to do. Alana has grown up in the TV world and she was 4 and we’ve been doing this for 10 years. Who knows what it can bring.

“I’m going to let her write her story. I feel like when you write your own story, it never comes out the way you think it should.

Mama June said she wants her daughter to do ‘whatever she wants’ with her future

“With the season, we’re still in the middle of writing our story. Will we ever be done with writing our story? Who knows. As we’re writing our story they’re going to see the highs and lows, the crying, the laughing, the good and the bad side of all of us.”

Mama June previously told The Celeb Report that she and Alana are still working on their relationship after she completed a 25-day rehab stint and has remained sober for 14 months.

Mama June told The Celeb Report: “We’re still trying to make that amends and make sure we are straight.

“If I can’t be straight, I can’t be straight for somebody else.”

Mama June and Geno remain in Florida, while her family is in Georgia

June added that she has a sit-down with her teen daughter that will be featured on the upcoming season of Mama June: From Not to Hot: Road to Redemption.

Last season, viewers watched as Honey Boo Boo broke down and struggled with her mother’s absence.

June admitted she “didn’t watch” the show last season, as she was “too busy getting f**ked up” and “didn’t want to face reality.”

Mama June, who is also working on “making amends” with daughters Lauryn, 20, Jessica, 24, and Anna, 26, has remained in Florida with Geno, while her family is in Georgia.

The reality star is working on ‘showing’ her daughters that she’s changed

She said of her decision to stay in the Sunshine State away from her loved ones: “We were taught people, places and things.

“I feel today, now being 14 months clean, if we had went back after 25 days, we wouldn’t have the success we have now.”

When asked if she plans to return to Georgia one day, the WeTV star said “who knows what the future holds.”

Mama June, who recently launched a merchandise line, added: “We could move back, we could not, who knows. Right now our home is in Florida. I got a lot of sober support. We live 25 minutes from the rehab we went to. I connected with a lot of the rehabs in our town.”

The upcoming season will feature June’s ‘road to redemption’

The upcoming season will focus on Mama June’s “road to redemption.”

She previously told The Celeb Report: “We want to show that there is life before addiction, there is life during addiction and there is life after addiction. And you will see all of that throughout the show. Laughing with us, crying with us, praying with us at times silently, and riding this amazing journey.

“Our real life is our sobriety and our amends with the kids and what’s going on in the kids’ lives. That’s what you’ll see. Road to redemption across the board.”

In a trailer for the upcoming season, Pumpkin said: “She just wants us all to go back to the way things used to be, but after destroying our family, we aren’t sure we want her in our lives.

Pumpkin said they ‘aren’t sure’ if they want their mother back in their lives

“We don’t even know if she’s still sober. I don’t know if this can ever be repaired.”

Honey Boo Boo was seen crying in one scene: “You don’t know how many nights I’ve cried myself to sleep.”

Mama said in her confessional: “I’ve got to continuously show Pumpkin that I’ve changed.

June and Geno have pending possession of cocaine charges against them

June and Geno went to rehab last season

“I guess I didn’t realize how much I’ve f**ked everybody. I want to say I’m sorry, but I need to show that I’m sorry.”

Mama June and Geno were arrested for possession of a controlled substance – crack cocaine – and possession of drug paraphernalia – a crack pipe – in March 2019. The case remains ongoing.

The Celeb Report was the first to exclusively report that Mama June and Geno entered rehab.

They checked into a rehab facility in Florida on the season finale of Mama June: From Not to Hot: Family Crisis.

Geno admitted the two spent $150,000 in six months on crack cocaine.

The season premiere of Mama June: From Not to Hot: Road to Redemption airs tonight at 9/8c on WeTV.
