MAMA June said she was “pissed” and “hurt” when her daughters Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson “turned their backs” on her amid her drug problems.
The 41-year-old came face to face with both of her daughters for the first time in a year during Friday’s episode of Mama June: Road to Redemption.
While the group sat down with Dr. Ish Major, June was asked what “the hardest part for you as a mother knowing you couldn’t be there for them” was.
June, whose real name is June Shannon, responded: “Knowing that y’all chose to walk away, I’m not gonna lie to y’all. I was kind of pissed.”
After Ish and her daughters expressed their shock, June continued: “I just felt like they were turning their back on me.
“When I’ve always been there and I did feel that at that time when y’all wasn’t coming around.”
She continued to explain her emotions in a confessional interview, stating: “Me and the girls have been through some s**t over the years and we’ve always done it together, so having to go for the first time in my life having to do something alone, it was kind of… I guess I was hurt.”
June added: “I was a little salty.”
Pumpkin and Honey have been estranged from their mother following her arrest.
Back in March 2019, June and her boyfriend Geno Doak were arrested on drug possession charges, including possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia charges in Alabama.
The Mama June: From Not to Hot star has since focused on her sobriety and weight loss journey while living in Florida with Geno.
Meanwhile, Honey, 15, has been living with Pumpkin, 21, and her husband.
During last week’s episode of Mama June: Road to Redemption, Pumpkin made it clear that she had bad blood with Geno when she expressed that he was not welcome at their reunion.
While Pumpkin was clearly skeptical about seeing June, Honey previously said she was both “excited” and “nervous” to see her estranged mom.
Before the reunion, Pumpkin and Honey spoke to Dr. Ish as he promised he was there to help them navigate the highly anticipated reunion with June.
