Married At First Sight UK’s Georges shares ‘hardest part’ of show as wife Peggy threatened to QUIT and begged to go home

A rocky start

Married At First Sight UK star Georges has opened up about the most challenging moment on the show so far. The sports physio, 30, married Peggy this week, but their journey hasn't been smooth sailing.

At their wedding, the couple instantly felt a strong attraction to each other. However, things took a turn when Peggy suffered an allergic reaction during filming.

A desperate plea

Peggy's allergic reaction left her feeling unwell and on the brink of quitting the show. Georges recounted the moment, saying, "There was a period of time when Peggy was unwell. She had an allergic reaction to the grass in Wembley where the apartment was. She came into the apartment and didn’t look like herself and couldn’t stop crying. She was like ‘babe I can’t do it, I have to go home.'"

Georges offered his support, telling her they could work on their relationship outside of the show. Thankfully, they decided to stay and continue their experiment.

Doubts and temptations

However, this wasn't the only time Peggy considered leaving the show. During the honeymoon, she found herself questioning their relationship and the judgments of others. She opened up, saying, "You’ve got the judgement of others as well, I’m a girly girl, I like to hear my girl’s opinions and if a girl says one thing and you start to question it and say ‘does he do that? am I not seeing it, am I being blinded?’"

Georges also admitted to having moments where he wanted to walk away. He felt frustrated when they couldn't see eye-to-eye and thought that perhaps Peggy wasn't the right match for him. Despite their differences, he acknowledged that Peggy was exactly what he had asked for from the experts.

Ups and downs

Throughout their journey so far, the couple has had their fair share of ups and downs. Georges reflected on the challenges, stating, "At times I’d be sat there thinking is this for me? I literally couldn’t do anything right. She’s great to look at but she’s after a different calibre of man."

Despite these difficulties, Georges expressed that he was still blown away when he first met Peggy and had a lovely time at their wedding. It remains to be seen how their relationship will progress on the show.
