Masterchef fans thought they’d spotted a very cheeky joke
They noticed the unusual placement of two eggs and a rhubarb in one shot
This week, viewers have watched on as chef Marcus Wareing and former greengrocer Gregg Wallace whittled down the hopefuls.
Watching on in anticipation, Masterchef fans were hooked as the judges tasted the food laid out for them on Monday night’s episode.
However, many were left distracted from Marcus and Gregg’s critiques after noticing a very rude image on screen.
As chef hopeful Chris Finnigan, 37, spoke to the cameras about his dish, the cameras panned across one of the cooking stations.
There, two eggs had been laid out side-by-side with a piece of rhubarb conveniently placed in front, creating a rude-looking shape.
The camera lingered on the phallic objects for a few seconds – but long enough for viewers at home to notice, and flood social media.
Taking to TikTok, one fan filmed the moment as they watched at home and penned: “Masterchef promoting c**k and balls.”
Another chimed in: “I’ve seen two of these videos and honestly that’s more than enough for me to believe it.”
A third said: “Someone in set design did this, maybe they’ve seen the video, maybe they know you’re onto them.”
A fourth added: “One hundred percent the prop and set dress team are about to get pulled into a meeting today.”
It comes after Masterchef The Professionals fans were left furious over a “smug and pretentious” addition to the show.
The semi finals of the BBC hit saw the second group of four chefs cooking for a group of 20 of the UK’s best pop-up chefs and food entrepreneurs.
The task in saw them being given three hours to prepare twenty portions of food in a limited space with no ovens.
But while the four contestants worked their socks off, viewers were less impressed by the pop-up’s guests who judged the food on offer.
Fans complained that the foodies were all “smug and pretentious” and were turned off by their comments.
“The barbecue only really shone through for me on the broccoli,” commented one of the entrepreneurs, who sported a hipster-style baseball cap.
Twitter was soon flooded with viewers expressing their displeasure at the folks considered at the top of the pop-up scene.
“The most important thing we have learned from the last couple of episodes is that successful pop-up owners are smug, pretentious *****” one viewer fumed.
