When Greg, 60, tried the chocolate tart he wasn’t too happy as he said it’s “too wet in the middle”.
The budding chef told the judges that his daughter was a type 1 diabetic and that he won’t let his daughter have anything to do with sugar.
But viewers were not impressed and slammed him for being “misleading” about Type 1 diabetes.
The NHS states that you don’t have to cut out sugar when you have type 1 diabetes. In fact, you should always keep something with a high sugar content on you in case you need to raise your blood glucose levels.”
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Having lived with a type 1 diabetic for 13 plus years, they can have sugar it just needs to be managed appropriately.”
Another penned: “Why is John acting like a single grain of sugar will kill his type 1 diabetic daughter?”
A third added: “People with type 1 diabetes can eat sugar. Like everything, moderation is key.”
A fourth wrote: “I’m pretty sure type 1 can have sugar.”
A fifth added: “Obviously I’m rooting for the dilf with the sugar-free tart.”
