MasterChef viewers in hysterics over Gregg Wallace’s naughty innuendo

MASTERCHEF fans have been left in hysterics after Gregg Wallace made a naughty innuendo while judging a dish.

The TV chef, who is seen alongside co-judge John Torode on the BBC programme, made a comment about contestant Diya.

Masterchef judges Gregg, 58, and John, 57, were seen sitting down to judge the chefs in the last quarter-final on Thursday night.

After tasting all the dishes, the pair went over who was in the running for the semi final, and who would be sent home.

However, fans were left blushing after Gregg made an accidental naughty innuendo as he spoke about one of the dishes.

Mum-of-two Diya, 38, served up a delicious curry and some miniature onion bhaji as part of her semi final offering.

And while the judges loved the taste of her main course, they were left disappointed at the flavour of her bhaji.

“It’s very, very salty,” Gregg said of the dish as he tasted it the first time, but made the innuendo when he later referred to it.

“You, me and the dining room loved Diya’s curry but were underwhelmed by the bhajis,” he told his co-host.

“I found those balls really quite salty,” Gregg then added.

Taking to Twitter, fans reacted to Gregg’s hilarious innuendo, alongside a string of laughing faced emojis.

“Her salty balls let her down,” one penned, as another chimed in: “Can confirm, Greg Wallace does not like salty balls.”

“Nothing worse than salty balls Gregg,” a third added, while a fourth agreed: “Quote of the series on Masterchef this evening.”

“Ah, the salty balls did it for that cook no doubt,” a fifth concluded.

It comes after it was revealed that John and Gregg set their sights on yet another spin-off from the BBC’s smash-hit cookery contest.

John has hosted the Junior version of the show, Gregg is a judge on The Professionals and both of them present Celebrity MasterChef.

But now they want to follow in the footsteps of The Great British Bake Off – by lighting up the West End with their own MasterChef stage show.

Based on the C4 series, The Great British Bake Off Musical starring Zoe Birkett was launched last year.

And Gregg reckons that after hosting MasterChef with John for 18 years, perhaps it’s time they followed suit.

In an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report’s TV Mag, he said: “I was at Charing Cross station in London yesterday and I saw a poster for The Great British Bake Off: The Musical.

“I was thinking: ‘Why haven’t John and I got a musical?'”
