BBC One’s favourite cooking competition was back for another instalment last night.
However, one MasterChef contestant left viewers fuming due to the habit of deconstructing traditional plates.
Fans of the programme often expect contestants to take on challenges by thinking outside the box.
During Thursday’s episode, law graduate Radha was hopeful she could convince the judges and viewers of her creativity in the kitchen by presenting a deconstructed apple crumble.
Radha made her dessert with blackberries, pickled apples, a walnut brittle and a blackberry coulis and paired it with a side of vanilla ice cream.
Sadly for Radha, MasterChef fans were far from sweet with her as they bashed her unconventional crumble on Twitter.

MasterChef viewers say the same thing about contestant Dean’s interesting dish
“I’ve made a deconstructed… It’s a NO from me…”, one viewer commented.
A second viewer penned: “The world doesn’t need deconstructed Apple Crumbles, nor does the crumble need walnuts, so bog off.”
“I’ve made a deconstructed… Stop right there”, wrote a third MasterChef fan.
While most were no fans of her deconstruction, another fan believed her imagination made her think too much outside the box and away from what could have been a great idea.
“Apple crumble is pretty much a perfect pudding”, the viewer chimed in before adding: “not much else you can do to it to improve it. Whatever you do that’s not traditional is just going backwards.”
“Bloody love apple crumble, reminds me of growing up”, another commented, “But the best part about a crumble is when the sharp apples caramelise and the crumble starts going a bit stodgy underneath. I don’t want a deconstructed version.”
“When are people going to stop pickling and deconstructing things?”, one fuming viewer added.
The judges weren’t fully convinced either.
Judge John Torode first praised Radha for her blackberry coulis and her pickled apples.
But while their taste buds were pleased, they were still left scratching their heads.
“I think you got the flavours of an apple crumble right, but to actually construct then deconstruct it, it’s all out of proportion”, John added.
Gregg Wallace, on the other hand, jumped in: “You’ve got some nice ideas, you’ve got good flavours… but it looks really funny.”
“I don’t think I showed them the best of me”, an emotional Radha commented.
Fortunately for Radha, the crumble was not enough to get her booted out of the competition.
