LOVE Island fans have claimed that Michael Owen has ‘struck deal with the show so that that Gemma WOULD’T mention his name on TV’.
The football legend’s daughter Gemma, 19, is one of the sexy singletons taking part in this year’s series.
Since entering the villa, the professional equestrian has avoided talking about her famous dad.
However, within days of her being on the ITV2 show, fans noticed that Gemma dropped a number of hints to the gang about the former striker.
Now viewers have shared a bizarre theory on Reddit about why Michael, 42, has not been mentioned.
Gemma recently had to recouple with her former flame Davide Sanclimenti, 27, after bombshell Danica Taylor picked Luca Bish, 23.

Some fans took to the discussion website to talk about Luca, who Gemma was previously coupled up with.
They were trying to figure out if the Islanders know about Gemma’s claim to fame, and some have come up with an idea about why Michael hasn’t been mentioned yet.
One wrote in the thread: “If her family paid them money not to air it we won’t see it. I think it’s pretty obvious that some sort of deal was struck regarding her time on the island.”
Another chimed in: “There’s no way someone with that much money/power enters into a competition like this without insurance.
“Gemma Owen will have had a sweetheart deal struck up somehow between her lawyers and ITV to ensure she gets x-amount of attention per episode, is only shown favourably, one of her clothing lines is pushed etc.”
There is no evidence to suggest this has actually happened.
Gemma entered the villa on day one as an original and was coupled up with student Liam Llewellyn, 22.
However bombshell Davide soon caught her eye.
Gemma and Davide later coupled up, but it became obvious that they weren’t meant to be.
The international dressage rider soon showed an interested in fish monger Luca.
They later coupled up, but were torn apart when Danica decided to pick Luca last night.
