Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma joins Love Island saying she’s ‘very competitive’ like her footballer dad

MICHAEL Owen’s daughter Gemma has been confirmed for Love Island – and she’s in it to win it.

Last month The Celeb Report exclusively revealed the 19-year-old from Chester would be taking part in Love Island after getting her dad’s blessing.

And now the international dressage rider and business owner has admitted she’s competitive just like her footy star dad Michael.

She explained: “Sport has always been a big thing for me and my family. My dad was a professional football player.

“I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11-years-old. I’ve travelled all across Europe competing in big arenas in big competitions.

“I would say I’m very competitive. [When it comes to relationships] I will always go for what I want.

“But at the same time, I’m not going to mess up something for someone who is in a proper relationship or get in the way of a couple if they have a genuine connection.

“I wouldn’t do anything to another girl that I wouldn’t be happy with them doing to me.”

Asked what she will bring to the villa, Gemma said: “I would say I’m fun, flirty and fiery.

“I think I’m good at giving advice, I’m a good person to talk to, I’m very honest. If I want the same guy, I’d do it but in a nice respectful way.”

Gemma also revealed she was dating someone but when that ended she decided to give Love Island a go.

Other names already confirmed include the show’s first deaf singleton – Tasha Ghouri and sexy paramedic Paige Thorne.

Hunky scientist Dami Hope from Dublin and stunning waitress Indiyah Polack are also looking to find love alongside Welshman Liam Llewellyn.

The full line-up will be confirmed by ITV today.

The new cast will have inclusion training by Good Morning Britain star Sean Fletcher before entering the villa, ITV has revealed.

The newsman, 48, has stepped in to deliver sessions on how to better interact with others of differing abilities, backgrounds and genders.
