Michelle Keegan drops huge hint she could return to Our Girl and reveals Christmas plans with Mark Wright

MICHELLE Keegan has dropped a big hint she’ll reprise her role of Corporal Georgie Lane and return to Our Girl.

The actress, 33, left the BBC war drama earlier this year and it was subsequently cancelled following the end of its fourth series.

But Michelle has told Jonathan Ross that a comeback as Georgie will always be a possibility.

She said: “I will never say never with Our Girl. I absolutely loved that job. It was a fantastic role for me, it was really challenging, not only was it physically challenging, but I learnt so much on that job about the military and the medical side as well.

“I really enjoyed it, but I felt it was the right time for me to move on, then. In future Georgie can come back, they have left the door open for Georgie.

“I’ve done it for four seasons, I was going away from home quite a lot. I was away for four months at a time, the year before that I was away for eight months. I was so lucky [to travel]. It’s hard work and long days. Sometimes we’re working six day weeks and it is very challenging.”

Michelle filmed as far afield as Malaysia, South Africa, and Nepal while on the show.

During her last run, husband Mark Wright worked in LA as a host of entertainment show Extra, and both admitted the long distance was tough.

Since moving on from Our Girl Michelle has filmed Sky comedy drama Brassic here in the UK.

She said of the show: “We have so much fun and I think you see it on screen. It’s very organic. We all have such a great laugh filming.

“We started filming again in September. Obviously there’s a lot of restrictions [due to Covid]. A lot of people wearing PPE. Covid tests every two days. They are a bit [horrible]. You get used to them after a bit. You come into work, get your Covid test, go onto set. I got friction burns on my brain once when someone did it to me – really high up.”

Michelle will have a low-key Christmas with husband Mark Wright

Today her husband Mark gave a rare glimpse inside their home, revealing lots of festive decorations.

When it comes to the big day itself, the pair will keep it low-key and lounge around their impressive pad in their comfies.

Giving an insight into their home life, she added: “I want to say [we do] something really rock and roll but it’s not. I get brand new PJs on Christmas Eve. I wanted to say something cool but it’s not.”
