MIKE Myers is unrecognisable as he makes an epic return to TV in Netflix comedy The Pentaverate.

Mike has been quite the chameleon during his acting career, from Austin Powers and Doctor Evil to Wayne in Wayne’s World.

Mike plays a total of eight characters in the comedy

However in his new TV comedy, he plays not one but EIGHT different characters.

The comedy asks: “What if a secret society of five men – aka The Pentaverate – has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347?”

It sees Mike play a journalist called Ken Scarborough who is seeking the truth and ultimately, trying to save the world.

Mike, 58, joined Instagram last week and immediately started teasing his new project to fans.

When he eventually shared the first trailer for the show he captioned it: “The Pentaverate must never be exposed.”

To play Ken, Mike swaps his dark hair for a blond mop of locks and thick-rimmed glasses.

His other characters include Anthony Lansdowne, a conspiracy theorist who is also set on exposing the Pentaverate, Rex Smith, another conspiracy theorist and a far-right radio host and Lord Lordington, the oldest and highest-ranking member of the Pentaverate.

Rounding out the eight characters are Bruce Baldwin, an ex-media mogul, Mishu Ivanov, an ex-Russian oligarch, Shep Gordon, a former Rock’N’Roll manager and Jason Eccleston, the tech genius behind the invention of MENTOR, the Pentaverate’s super computer.

The star said of working with Netflix: “I love creating characters, and Netflix has given me a fantastic playground to play in.”

Despite the fact he plays so many characters himself, Mike has still lined up a stellar cast to join him in the comedy.

His co-stars include The Hangover’s Ken Jeong, British comedy legend Jennifer Saunders and It’s A Sin’s Lydia West.

A further description of the six part series adds: “As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to undercover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!”
