Grace Dent’s worried friends noticed a change in her behavior on the reality TV show I’m A Celebrity, prompting concerns about her well-being. The 50-year-old journalist decided to leave the show on "medical grounds" and has already returned home from Australia.
Quiet Withdrawal
Grace's friends became concerned when she started to withdraw from conversations in the camp. Her lack of participation during a heated argument about Brexit between Nigel Farage and Fred Sirieix was a red flag for those close to her.
A source told The Celeb Report: "Grace is incredibly talented and very passionate about politics. When she failed to get involved, it was clear she was feeling defeated. Additionally, the upcoming anniversary of her father's death would have undoubtedly been weighing on her mind. Leaving the show was the best decision she could have made. I’m a Celebrity is a challenging experience and not for everyone."
The Final Straw
Grace's exit from the show came after she was nominated for the Down The Tubes Bushtucker Trial. As her name was called out, her face appeared blank, leading her friends to believe it was the tipping point for her.
Struggles in the Camp
The broadcaster and writer, who hails from Carlisle, showed signs of struggling during her nine-day stint in the camp. In a conversation with fellow contestant Josie Gibson, Grace expressed her desire to go home, stating, "I've had enough. I've completely had enough."
According to sources, Grace was physically and mentally drained from her time on the show. The cold and wet weather, along with the challenging tasks and lack of food, took a toll on her. She lost a significant amount of weight and appeared gaunt.
Grace's friends are relieved that she is out of the show and want her to focus on her well-being.
