THIS Morning viewers were stunned today as a caller said she’d discovered her husband had been cheating on her for EIGHT years.
But ‘Julie’ insisted she wouldn’t give up on her wayward man and said she would even go along with him with counselling.
She was speaking to Sun legend Deidre Sanders on a phone-in hosted by holiday presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
Julie said: “I found out at the weekend that my husband has been having an affair for the past eight years.
“This isn’t the first time, and he also did this with his first wife for 10 years – I definitely think there’s something wrong with him.”
She added: “He’s never wanted to seek help before but he’s admitted now that he really needs help.
“I’ve actually said that I will go with him to seek this help so I can find out the root cause of it and that will determine my decision whether I should leave him or not.”
Asked about his background, Julie said: “I don’t think he had it easy. I think deep down there is something lurking in his brain from his past. This is why I won’t give up.”
Deidre told Julie: “There is no excuse because he should have dealt with his problems head-on not cheated on you but yes there may be a reason there.”
Suggesting they visit a counsellor she added: “If he is prepared to face up to it that may help. I bet you could book in to see somebody next week.
“I think you should be firm with your husband and say this is the deal – I’m not trying with you again unless you get this proper counselling.”
This Morning star Alison, 46, told her breezily: “Good luck, Julie.”
However, viewers were less sympathetic, with one saying: “He’ll definitely do it again then ‘Julie’. And if you take him back, there’s something wrong with you.”
Another was even more succinct, saying: “Sod that – dump him Julie.”
