However, Tipping Point also gets attention from online trolls who post mean comments about the contestants on Twitter and other social media pages.

It’s left one spouse of a former contestant annoyed, with TikTok user mattyp_78 posting a video on the app.

Against a backdrop of his husband on the show alongside the other contestants, he said: “So in 2020 my husband was on Tipping Point, that’s him there, gorgeous.

“He should have just won for his hotness alone. Anyways he came third, he did really well, I think the Tipping Point machine didn’t play in his favour.

“He actually got the most questions right in the second round and he went out in the second round.”

He continued: “Anyways, great experience [but] what I knew and what he discovered and the show warns you about is the social media, and how many trolls are out there attacking these contestants.

“Luckily for my husband the only thing they attacked him for was his shirt, which I think is amazing and I love it.

“Anyways, I can’t believe these people get together – and I will say they live for it like a little gang – they all get together and make fun of people responding to the questions.”

He then explained why he would never go on a show like Tipping Point himself, saying: “It’s actually so nerve-racking, the only reason I won’t do shows like this is I just know that I’ll stuff up every question as I get too nervous.

“But I can’t believe trolls out there have nothing better to do than get together and make fun of people, get off your own arse and go and do something like this yourself.”

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
