Naga Munchetty replaced on BBC Breakfast days after viewers branded her ‘rude’

NAGA Munchetty was nowhere to be seen during this morning’s BBC Breakfast show – just days after she was branded “rude” by viewers.

The BBC’s hit morning programme has already gone through several format changes this week following the Queen’s death.

During the Queen’s final journey from Balmoral and her subsequent lying in state, the broadcaster has seen several of its presenters ditch the Salford studio.

Earlier this week, Jon Kay travelled to Edinburgh and Sally appeared from Buckingham Palace as crowds queued to visit the Queen’s coffin and bid their monarch farewell.

Naga and Charlie usually anchor the BBC One morning show from Thursday to Saturday every week.

But it seems viewers had to adapt to another switch-up on Thursday as Naga was nowhere to be seen on their TV screens.

Instead, it was Nina Warhurst who stepped in to replace as her in the studio and Charlie had left the studio to appear from Westminster.

Her absence comes after she admitted that “people don’t like me” – as BBC Breakfast fans brand her “rude”.

The 47-year-old journalist has proved a divisive character while on the famous red sofa, with some fans loving her presenting style while others cannot abide it.

Last week, Naga outraged some viewers after she “rolled her eyes” at a guest, leading many to brand her “rude and unprofessional”.

She was also slammed for a blunder regarding King Charles III following the death of The Queen.

In a previous interview, Naga admitted she was fully aware of how polarising she can be, and she was fine with it.

She explained how her husband James Haggar, a TV director, had told her when she moved into TV news: “You need to have a thicker skin.”

“People either love you or hate you, but you need to not take it personally.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
