Naga Munchetty’s BBC Breakfast partner replaced in massive shake-up

NAGA Munchetty’s BBC Breakfast co-presenter Charlie Stayt was replaced today after a huge shake-up ahead of their usual Saturday morning slot.

The veteran TV presenter was replaced by Roger Johnson, who sat alongside Naga on the red sofa.

They were joined by Matt Taylor, who gave an overview of today’s weather forecast.

Naga, 47, and Charlie, 60, usually host BBC Breakfast together from Thursday to Saturday, with alternative presenters rotating in for Sunday’s show.

However, Charlie was noticeably absent from the studio this morning as Roger, 53, filled his spot.

Concerned over Charlie’s absence, some viewers took to social media to discuss it.

“Spock pulled me through as we went warp factor 2. Where’s Charlie Stayt?” one viewer queried, while another questioned why he’d been replaced.

Charlie had presented yesterday’s episode of BBC Breakfast, along with Naga, so many were surprised that he wasn’t on the red sofa this morning.

Yesterday, the co-hosts continued discussing the race between Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak for the Conservative Leader position, with Naga speaking to MP Ben Wallace, who reaffirmed his support for Liz.

However, despite the presenter shake-up, it was business as usual on the Beeb’s red sofa this morning.

Naga and Roger discussed the Commonwealth games which kicked off earlier this week, before Matt spoke to them about the heavy rainfall and flooding in the Lake District.

The presenters also dug into the state of children’s mental health services in England, which, as Roger pointed out, are “buckling under pressure.”

Many viewers were also happy to see Roger in the studio, despite Charlie’s absence.

One said: “Waking up to two of your favourite tv hosts @TVNaga01 & @RogerJ_01 presenting @BBCBreakfast – you know it’ll be a good Saturday!”

A second BBC Breakfast viewer praised Roger for being “class act” and “serious journalist.”

Charlie’s absence from today’s breakfast show has not been addressed by himself or the BBC, so it’s likely he’ll be back next week.
