From Game of Thrones to Royal Drama
Known for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Tudors, Natalie Dormer is set to take on the role of the real-life Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, in the upcoming four-part ITV drama, The Lady.
The Story Unveiled
The drama will focus on the life of former royal dresser Jane Andrews, played by Mia McKenna-Bruce, whose journey from rags to riches took a dark turn when she was convicted of murder. Ed Speleers will join Dormer in the cast as Thomas Cressman.
A Tale of Ambition and Tragedy
Jane Andrews started as a working-class girl before becoming the Duchess of York's dresser at Buckingham Palace. However, her fall from grace and a doomed romance with Thomas Cressman ultimately led to tragic consequences.
Behind the Scenes
The series will be directed by award-winning director Lee Haven Jones and scripted by Harlots' Debbie O'Malley. O'Malley describes the story as a complex exploration of female ambition, human frailty, and the impact of class dynamics and royal obsession.

A Gripping Narrative
With Dormer's portrayal of Sarah Ferguson and the retelling of Jane Andrews' story, The Lady promises to captivate audiences with its mix of royal drama, ambition, and tragedy.
