A trailer teasing the final show hints at an emotional-filled hour for fans, as some bid farewell and others return to the iconic Ramsay Street.

Neighbours fans petitioned for the show to be picked up by another broadcaster.

However, no one else was found and so it was agreed the soap would end in the summer, with many famous faces from the show’s past returning for one last time.

The trailer begins with a shot of the iconic Ramsay Street sign as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan appear as Scott and Charlene in an old photo and fans will no doubt be incredibly emotional.

“It certainly feels like the end of an era. It all goes so quickly,” the trailer begins by saying.

A string of emotional moments are shown including a number of returning cameos, as there is a mention of “lots of old faces are floating about”.

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are then seen leaning against their car, as they take in the surroundings.

“Good neighbours reunite. Will they get their happy ever after? Good friends say goodbye,” the clip reads, as some return and some bid farewell to the street they have all called home at one point.

In a poignant moment to end the trailer, Susanne Kennedy is told about one of the resident’s leaving as he promises: “We might be leaving the street, but we’re always going to be in each other’s lives.”

“Always,” she replies as the trailer ends with a shot of the street.

After the trailer dropped, hundreds of fans took to Twitter in their droves to share their heartbreak at the popular soap coming to an end.

Alongside an array of sad-faced emojis, one person penned: “Sales of tissues will be through the roof this week! A good trailer.”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Just seen the trailer for the last ever episode of Neighbours and burst into tears when Scott puts his arm around Charlene.”

While a third remarked: “It feels like the end of an era. What a sad trailer that was to watch.”
