The film premiered last November

Soft and Quiet, written and produced by Beth de Araújo, premiered on March 12, 2022, and was later released on November 4 2022.

It follows the story of a group of women – Emily, Leslie, Kim and Marjorie – who organise a meeting for a new white supremacist group.

As the film unfolds, they bump into Asian-American sisters Lily and Anne – and things take a very dark turn.

The film stars Stefanie Estes, Olivia Luccardi, Dana Millican, Melissa Paulo, Eleanore Pienta and Cissy Ly.

Many have taken to Twitter to share their horror, with one tweeting: “I am 23 minutes into #SoftandQuiet and it is horrifying.”

“Yes. They’re just sitting there talking and I’m scared to death,” another wrote.

A third chimed in: “#SXSW2022 #SoftandQuiet Deeply discomforting to watch, but that’s the point. Beth de Araújo wants us as spectators, as it plays out in real time, stuck with the most heinous, hateful women ever. A very bold debut, and the most terrifying and infuriating film I’ve seen yet.”

A fourth chimed in: “Watched #SoftAndQuiet last night. One of the most terrifying movies I have seen in recent years, real nightmare fuel about white supremacist violence.”

“This is honestly one of the most terrifying films of all time. Despite the horrific subject matter, not to mention how upsetting it was to sit through, I still can’t help but appreciate the directors audacity. Congrats to the actors as well,” a fifth added.

This isn’t the only film on Netflix that has got people talking.

Others have been left unable to sleep after watching the Stephen King horror 1922.

The American horror is based on author Stephen King’s book of the same name which follows the story of a man called Wilf who gets his son to help him kill his mum.

It comes shortly after Netflix viewers were left totally freaked out by watching “grotesque” horror movie Viking Wolf.

The film, which is about a teenage girl transforming into a werewolf, includes disturbing scenes of people being torn apart, that have left some fans “terrified”.
