Black Mirror has revealed major new details of season six episodes featuring an A-list cast
The titles of the five episodes have been revealed
While the first look trailer dropped last month, Netflix’s official Twitter account released further details of the episodes today.
Alongside a short montage, the tweet read: “Joan is Awful. Loch Henry. Beyond the Sea. Mazey Day. Demon ’79.
“Five new episodes. Five new nightmares. Black Mirror S6, coming this June.”
An A-list cast has been confirmed to head up the show ranging from Salma Hayek and Aaron Paul to Kate Mara.
A surprise addition to the cast is EastEnders actor Himesh Patel.
Himesh played the role of Tamwar Masood on the BBC show for just under ten years between 2007 and 2016 before heading to the US to forge a successful career.
They are just some of the stars set to appear with even more famous faces expected to be announced in due course.
Show creator Charlie Brooker has promised that the next series will push “the parameters” of a Black Mirror episode while also confirming that this time around he will include elements he previously vowed never to do.
Speaking about the new instalment, Charlie said: “This time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is.”
He continued: “The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through – but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.”
Netflix added that the series would be “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet”.
Black Mirror is a dystopian anthology series with each episode being its own self-contained story.
The episodes usually revolve around everyday life being infiltrated by futuristic technologies which often have grave consequences for those involved.
Before becoming a global success on Netflix, the series began on Channel 4 in 2011 where it remained for two years.
It moved to the streaming giant in 2016 where it became one of its first mega shows and received critical acclaim and attracted attention from all over the world.
