Netflix’s Tiny Pretty Things star reveals fears over filming show’s longest sex scene amid backlash

TINY Pretty Things star Brennan Clost has revealed his fears over filming the Netflix show’s longest sex scene.

His admission comes after the young adult drama was slammed by viewers for its “obscenely unnecessary sex scenes“.

Brennan Clost has spoken about his portrayal of a gay character

Clost, 26, stars as Shane in the series which follows Neveah, an elite ballerina who is offered a coveted spot at Chicago’s ballet academy – but only after its star pupil is pushed to her death from a rooftop.

Speaking about his portrayal of a gay character and his relationships on the show, Clost described his feelings ahead of filming sex scenes.

He told Digital Spy: “I was really nervous. It was my first time ever working in that way.”

But he emphasised: “We were really supported as a cast.

Viewers have already commented on the number of sex scenes on the show

“We had an amazing intimacy coordinator, Casey Hudecki.

“And our directors were really open, communicating with us what the shots were going to be, how they were going to light it ahead of time, just so that you can visualise in your mind what it might be.”

“We were really lucky to have those two weeks of dance rehearsal leading up to it.

“Because my very first day on set filming, I filmed a sex scene,” he laughed.

But he explains the scene with Barton Cowperthwaite, who plays Oren was a success as the pair had “developed such a friendship through dance rehearsals” and “really trusted each other”.

But the bedroom action did not stop there for Clost who also filmed a scene with Josh Pyman, who plays Dev.

He explained: “We really made sure to build our trust and friendship off-camera so that on the day, you’re feeling comfortable enough to be vulnerable and go for it.

“I think it might be the longest sex scene on the whole show, in the whole season. That one was a long one.

“We had multiple sequences of choreography that we learned for that.”

And it’s not just the many sex scenes which have got viewers talking, some have noticed how a number of the male characters all seem to have a similar, disturbing trait.

The show is about an exclusive dance school

But the young adult drama is laced with nudity and sex

Taking to Twitter, one outraged viewer wrote: “IS EVERY TEACHER AT THIS SCHOOL F***ING PREDATORY LIKE PLEASE TELL ME THE BALLET INDUSTRY ISNT LIKE THIS THIS IS JUST SCARY OMG.”

Another added: “Why are almost all the adults in this show exhibiting predatory behavior? Can’t trust anyone. #TinyPrettyThings.”

A third tweeted: “So just started #TinyPrettyThings and the men seem….a bit predatory and pervy….”

Meanwhile a fourth agreed, writing: “Why are all of the main adults in this show predators and abusers?! #TinyPrettyThings.”

A number of viewers called out the character Ramon, a choreographer, in particular as he focuses his attention on student Bette and her sister Delia.
