THE new Candyman trailer has left horror fans “too scared to take a shower”.
The upcoming slasher film dropped a first look at what to expect yesterday… and it looks like it’s certainly not one to miss.
The first Candyman film directed by Bernard Rose, was released in 1992 after being influenced by one Clive Barker’s novels from Books of Blood.
After becoming hugely popular, two sequels in 1995 and 1999 followed called Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and Candyman: Day of the Dead.
The fourth “spiritual sequel” which will hit our screens in two months time is based on short story The Forbidden by Clive Barker.
Candyman was supposed to hit the big screen in 12 June 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic halted production and was pushed back twice more.
But now it has been revealed that it will premiere on 27 August 2021.
The blockbuster explores the ghost story of a petrifying killer in Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighbourhood.
Those brave enough to repeat “Candyman” in the mirror five times have to deal with the consequences… and in the film a handful of people try their luck with the supernatural being.
The official Twitter page shared the brand new trailer and horror fans were left shaking in their boots.
After watching the never-before-seen footage from the blockbuster, many took to the social media platform to share their shock at how spine-chilling it really is.
One wrote: “Was about to take a shower, but peeped them new #Candyman trailer first. Now I’m scared to take said shower…”
Another said: “I’m so scared to watch #Candyman cuz I’m a scaredy cat but I wanna support Yayah so….”
A third tweeted: “#Candyman really still scares me, that trailer gives me chills. Can’t wait…”
