New Strictly Come Dancing judge Cynthia Erivo looks chic as she battles the rain ahead of show debut

NEW Strictly Come Dancing judge Cynthia Erivo managed to look effortlessly chic as she battled the rain ahead of her show debut.

Earlier today it was announced that the 34-year-old star will be replacing Craig Revel Horwood on the BBC series tomorrow night as he has been forced to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus.

Despite the weather, she looked effortlessly chic

Cynthia was seen as she stepped out for a spot of shopping in Chelsea’s Sloane Street, with the fashionista seen popping into both Valentino and Hermes.

And she looked typically stylish as she wrapped up in a long lilac coat, with a glimpse at her bold yellow hat visible underneath her hoodie.

She added a pair of chunky boots to her outfit, and casually slung a leopard-print holdall bag over one arm.

The Tony Award winner is a particularly apt replacement for Craig this weekend as it is Musicals Week on Strictly.

She will join Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton du Beke behind the judges’ table and give her verdict on the remaining celebs’ routines.

Star of stage and screen Cynthia said of the role: “I’m so delighted to be joining the Strictly judging panel for Musicals Week. Musicals have a unique place in my heart, it’s such a special way of connecting all art and making it one.

“I’m excited to bring my experience to the show and I can’t wait to see what the couples have in store this weekend.”

The acclaimed star has won a Daytime Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award, and been nominated for two Oscars.

Meanwhile, Craig is in isolation for 10 days and will only return to the show next week if he tests negative and is back in good health.
