NICK Knowles is set to make a triumphant return to DIY SOS after he was replaced on the show last year.
The 59-year-old left the popular programme after he featured in a Shreddies cereal ad campaign, which breached the BBC’s strict advertising rules.
Capitalising on his DIY SOS persona, the ad featured Nick playing a builder who pours Shreddies into his hard hat.
Shreddies didn’t want to pull the campaign, so the commercial could have cost Nick his DIY SOS hosting role which was hosted by comedian Rhod Gilbert instead.
However, following discussions with the BBC, it was agreed Nick would leave the programme until the ad ran its course.
The 59-year-old stepped back from the programme in November and missed out on hosting the 2021 DIY SOS Children In Need special.

But he is now back to hosting the current season of DIY SOS, due to air next week.
Following his break from the broadcaster, Nick has been working on Channel 5‘s Big House Clear Out.
The DIY expert and his team totally transform messy homes if the guests agree to get rid of their unwanted clutter.
And the presenter was reduced to tears after a late veteran was honoured during a recent episode of the show.
Nick faced the almost impossible task of helping Sarah get rid of an array of possessions.
For Sarah, it would prove to be incredibly tough, with the items all belonging to her husband Trevor, who died aged just 55.
Towards the end of the episode, Sarah was informed that a selection of her husband’s military collection would be honoured by Forgotten Veterans UK.
Nick soon burst into tears, revealing: “You’ve got me choking up now,” before waving off the camera and giving Sarah a big hug.
DIY SOS returns to BBC One at 8pm on Tuesday, 10 May.
