Our Yorkshire Farm fans left squirming as Amanda and Clive Owen teach youngest children to skin lambs ‘to save lives’

OUR Yorkshire Farm fans were left gobsmacked after Amanda and Clive Owen SKINNED a lamb in front of their kids.

The family of shepherds taught their youngest children how to remove the dead lamb’s skin from its carcass after they discovered its body on the farm.

Viewers of the Channel 5 reality show were left disgusted after father-of-nine Clive taught his daughter Clemmy what to do with a dead lamb.

The patriarch of the Owen family educated one of his youngest daughters on the ins and outs of farming after another lamb had been rejected by its mother.

In order to save the newborn, which likely would not survive alone, Clive attempted to gift the rejected lamb to the grieving mother sheep.

The farmer explained the importance of skinning the deceased lamb of its coat so that the mother sheep would accept the offspring as its own.

Owen could be seen taking a knife to the body of the lamb as he explained to Clemmy that the rejected lamb would require the warmth and smell of the sheepskin.

Fans took to social media to express their distaste for the grim scene.

One viewer wrote: “Nothing phases these kids on Our Yorkshire Farm, this little girl just watched as her dad skinned a lamb?”

Another read: “Watching a dad teach his daughter how to SKIN a sheep on channel 5…gross!”

Earlier on in the episode, Amanda took three of her daughters, Nancy, Violet and Clemmy, on the hunt for a lost lamb after a sheep seemed to be missing its newborn.

Unfortunately, the mother and children soon realised that the lamb had met a gruesome end.

“I can see something,” Amanda, 47, pointed out as the family spotted what seemed to be a body in a river up ahead, “and it’s not good.”

The small animal had caught in a section of the river as its mother stopped for a drink of water and drowned.

“Sometimes you get mysteries and sometimes you get an answer, and sometimes you don’t but that’s your answer,” Amanda told her daughters.

“This poor little newborn lamb.”

Nancy asked: “That’s very sad isn’t it, mum?”

Setting out again, Amanda noticed that one of the lambs appeared to be missing.

She said on camera: “I can see something and it’s not good.

“Sometimes you get mystery and other times you get answers,” the mum-of-nine added.

Violet explained: “Everything has to die. Even people.”

Removing the dead lamb from the stream, Amanda responded: “That’s right, it’s just a shame because it didn’t have much of a life.

“You can’t dwell on it… before Amanda was cut off by Nancy who said: “Because if there was no river, they wouldn’t have nothing to drink.”

Previously on the show Clive was at his wit’s end as freezing conditions battered he and wife, Amanda’s farm.

The family are set to face yet another harsh winter this year as they continue to battle with issues on the farm.

Our Yorkshire Farm continues on Channel 5 on Tuesday at 9pm.
