OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen has spoken candidly about life at Ravenseat and the challenges it comes with, after her split from husband Clive.
The Shepherdess said that relocating to the countryside was a huge life change during a chat with James Martin on his ITV Saturday Morning programme.

Amanda says farm life is challenging and she has been struggling
After being asked how she adjusted to farm life, Amanda explained to James: “It’s very remote- it’s billed as one of the highest remotest hill farms in England, and I mean, it’s a challenging place at the best of times.
“So you have to adapt to the ways of the place, and it certainly molds your whole character.”
She added: “I think self-sufficiency has to be one of the key things that you have to get your head around.
“Everything is not to hand and you’re pretty much out there, doing your thing, and you have to work with the produce and what is around you.”
The Shepherdess then touched on her and Clive’s marriage when they first moved to the farm and said: “It’s been quite a steep learning curve going to Ravenseat.
“And I end up marrying a man who – pretty much – will present me with half a bullock as a gift.
“You have to go from zero to hero very quickly.”
Just over a month ago, the famous Shepherdess announced her split from her husband of 22 years, Clive Owen, to her Instagram followers.
In a joint statement shared on Instagram, Amanda wrote: “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.
“This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.”
But despite calling it quits, the pair reassured fans of the show that they will still keep a united front on camera and continue to host the series together.
She said: “This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family. Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”
