OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen is fuming after husband Clive destroyed a crucial part of the farm.
The shepherdess, 46, recalled the time she was “furious” with her other half after one of her beloved Fir trees was mowed down.
Amanda remembered the time Clive taught their son Reuben how to use some machinery.
However, Clive reversed it into one of the trees by mistake, leaving Amanda less than impressed.
The machine was given to the family by a friend of Amanda and Owen’s called Alex.
He once used the digger for “renovations when he was the landlord of Tan Hill, England’s highest inn and our nearest pub”.
Reuben was delighted after his family received the digger, which Alex no longer used since retiring.
Clive gave Reuben “the nod” to drive the digger on a two-mile journey through the fields and reaching the Fir trees.
Amanda explained Clive then took control of the digger but slowly reversed it down the bottom of the lawn before swinging the boom, which knocked over one of the two trees.
Owen, who described the machinery as a “slow-moving rust-bucket”, fumed: “Look what you’ve done to mi bloody tree! I can’t believe you’ve just done that!”
“I was furious, Reuben thought it was funny,” she wrote.
“Ey, Mum, yer gone ‘ave to change name o’ t’house now,” Rueben suggested. “It’s not The Firs anymore, you’ve only got one fir tree now, so it’s The Fir!”
