Our Yorkshire Farm’s neighbours break silence after sleepy Ravenseat is swamped by fans of Amanda Owen

NEIGHBOURS of Amanda Owen have revealed that Revenseat Farm has becoming a hotspot for tourists for fans of Our Yorkshire Farm.

Shepherd Amanda, 40, who lives on the farm with husband Clive and their nine children, documents their daily lives on the popular Channel 5 show.

Fans have been flocking to Yorkshire to catch a glimpse of Amanda

Now, thanks to Our Yorkshire Farm, the family’s neighbours have revealed that the area is fast becoming a tourist hot spot.

Patricia and Ronald Tyler have lived in their home next door to the Owens for over two decades, witnessing the family expand first hand.

The couple, aged 66 and 67, describe the Owen’s as “fantastic neighbours”, always being on hand if they need help due to their remote location.

However, Patricia and Ronald, who moved to the area from London, told Yorkshire Live that they have noticed it becoming more and more popular.

The Channel 5 star has made the area more popular

The numbers of tourists have increased rapidly since the first documentary series on the Owen family aired in 2018.

The couple said that more people are travelling to the Swaledale area hoping to catch a glimpse of the star and the beautiful surroundings.

“Amanda has got a huge fan base,” the neighbour revealed. “We get people who come down and if she is closed, they will travel home and come back the next day.”

Patricia continued of Amanda’s fame throughout the area and beyond: “I think people just want to see her.”

Neighbours say fans travel far and wide to try and meet her

Previously, Countryfile star Julia Bradbury shone a light on the rural area by visiting on the show and writing about it.

“It all started when Julia Bradbury did one of her programmes down here and Amanda got to know her,” Patricia told Yorkshire Live.

“Now that she’s written her books and done everything, people come down a lot now. It’s almost like a pilgrimage,” she added.

Earlier this week, Amanda confirmed her popularity when she posted a snap of her swimming in a local river on her Twitter.

Immediately after posting to her 168,600 fans, they flocked to the comments to ask her where the location was.

Enquiring over the picturesque location, one wrote: “May I know the location of this place please. It’s on my bucket list now to visit this summer.”

While another simply chimed in: “Where is this please?”

“Swaledale, North Yorkshire. See you soon,” Amanda replied. “Cannot guarantee sunshine but always stunning views and still plenty of space to be on your ownsome.”
