REUBEN Owen took a swipe at his father Clive in the latest episode of Beyond the Yorkshire Farm.
The Channel 5 series is the new spin-off of the Owen family’s Our Yorkshire Farm.
Clive and Reuben are working together on their new business
However, this series focuses on dad Clive, 68, and son Reuben, 18.
It launched last week to record numbers, with over 1.5 million people tuning into the first episode.
This week saw the father-son duo carry out a mammoth stonework project, where Reuben really leaned on his dad for some help.
During the episode, Reuben explained that his best friend Tom was hoping to work for his and Clive’s digging business full-time.
Both of the friends are studying engineering, but Tom stated he was more interested in working hands-on as opposed to studying.
Reuben explained that it wasn’t the best time to offer him a job, given the season, and Tom agreed it’d be best for him to fully qualify first.
The pals got to work on fixing an old tractor Reuben had purchased, but it wasn’t log until Clive got involved.
He told the camera: “Tom and Reuben have worked flat-out all summer and they work together really well and enjoy each other’s company, so that is really good.
“Now the time has come when Tom has to look to his future and decide what is best for him, so it’s important we talk things through with him as his future depends on it.”
Clive was helping the friends do their work, but they soon started teasing him.
Reuben joked: “Dad’s definitely been diagnosed with no sense of humour.”
Clive laughed off the dig, as they continued with their huge project.
Many of the show’s viewers couldn’t help but comment on the lovely bond between father and son.
One wrote: “What a joyous programme this is, young Reuben is a grafter and his old man couldn’t be prouder.
“Just wonderful to watch.”
Another said: “#Beyondtheyorkshirefarm is an ace move by @channel5_tv.
“Clive deserves his moment in the spotlight and with Reuben; their bond is wonderful!
“I’m sure it’ll be inspirational to men and boys of all generations.”
A third viewer Tweeted: “I think Reuben and his friends are the kind of role models this country desperately needs.
“Great to meet a host of new characters too. Lovely to learn more about Clive too.”
Beyond the Yorkshire Farm continues next Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 5.
