Paddy McGuinness has ignited speculation of a Phoenix Nights reboot after sharing a photo with one of the stars from the hit show. The comedy series, which aired from 2001 to 2002, had fans buzzing with excitement at the possibility of a comeback.
Fans Hopeful for a Revival
Paddy, who portrayed Patrick O'Shea in the beloved programme, took to Instagram to post a picture of himself alongside Archie Kelly, who played Kenny Senior on the show. The reunion instantly prompted fans to express their anticipation for an official announcement of a reboot.
One enthusiastic fan exclaimed, "Bring it back! Best show ever!" Another echoed the sentiment, stating, "Get all the band back together Pad, best British comedy ever for me. Love it if there was a revival." A third fervent supporter added, "Please bring Phoenix Nights back!"
The Phoenix Club and Peter Kay's Plans
Phoenix Nights revolved around the antics of the fictional working men's club, The Phoenix Club, located in Greater Manchester. Comedian Peter Kay starred as the main character, Brian Potter, and had previously teased plans for a Phoenix Nights movie.
"People always ask, 'Will there be more Phoenix Nights?' and I can now confirm there won't - but I am thinking of a film," Kay revealed.
No Knowledge of a Film
However, Paddy McGuinness contradicted Kay's statement, claiming to have no knowledge of any plans for a film. "That's not happening, let me tell you. Not that I know of... I'm probably not in it," McGuinness stated.
While the possibility of a Phoenix Nights movie remains uncertain, fans remain hopeful for a reboot of the iconic comedy series. With McGuinness's recent social media post, anticipation continues to grow among supporters of the show.
