Paige Thorne hits out at Love Island after major format twist this series

FORMER Love Island star Paige Thorne has hit out at the format twist this series.

The Islanders were caught off guard as two bombshells – from the Australian version of the show – were brought in.

Jessie and Aaron have come all the way from Australia

Paige, who left the show with Adam Collard, isn’t convinced the new idea will work due to the long distance between the UK and Oz.

She told Grazia: “It’s a bit of a stretch them bringing in Australian Love Islanders isn’t it?

“I know that they’ve got a show to do and that Jessie and Aaron brought plenty of drama in their own series of Love Island, but it defeats the whole purpose of the show.

“None of the contestants are going to want to get into a relationship with someone who lives on the other side of the world and has a massive time difference, no matter how much they may like them.”

Bosses decided to bring in Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters in a bid to really shake things up.

Last year ITV made waves when they welcomed 2018 bad boy Adam back into the villa in a dramatic return – a move that was criticised by Women’s Aid after his debut was shrouded in controversy over the way he treated the girls.

His return wasn’t as dramatic as many had hoped because he quickly coupled up with Paige and stayed with her until they end.

They split shortly after leaving the villa after he became embroiled in cheating claims.

Newbie Jessie has made a beeline for Will and some viewers are concerned she is using him to stay on the show.
