PANIC-STRICKEN Lorraine Kelly was forced to deny that she has coronavirus this morning after her coughing interrupted her interview.
The 61-year-old star was chatting to EastEnders newcomer Heather Peace when she struggled to get words out due to a tickle in her throat.
Appearing via video link live from Albert Square, the actress chatted about her experience on the BBC soap as well as her home life.
Heather was explaining how her super soap fan wife Ellie doesn’t let her share storylines with her through fear of spoilers when Lorraine choked over her words.
Her voice cracked as she tried to ask the next question, with the presenter clearing her throat as she apologised.
She said: “Sorry, I’ve got a cough.”
Clearly panicked by the implication, she quickly clarified: “It’s not Covid, it’s not Covid!
“I did the test this morning, it’s not, honestly.”
Lorraine cleared her throat again but struggled to speak properly for a little while longer.
The star is double-jabbed against the life-threatening virus, previously shocking fans by revealing her real name on her vaccination card.
The TV favourite beamed with pride as she shared a photo of herself holding up the paper that showed she’d had the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab alongside her legal moniker ‘Lorraine Smith’.
Sun columnist Lorraine married TV cameraman Steve Smith in 1992, but kept her maiden name for work.
