The Build Up to Christmas
Pete Wicks, former star of Towie, has shared his Christmas day plans, revealing that he will be spending it alone with his dogs, watching Only Fools And Horses. The 35-year-old, who recently returned from Australia after supporting his best friend Sam Thompson on I'm A Celebrity, admitted that he's not a huge fan of the festive season. "I'm so glad I've been away and missed most of the build up to Christmas," he said.
A Heavy Day
Pete explained that while Christmas day itself is fine, the build up before and the month after can leave him feeling a little blue. "Too much before, and after it you just feel a little blue," he said. "For me, I've missed all the build up which is great - but then there's the panic buying of presents."
Christmas with the Dogs
When it comes to Christmas day, Pete usually spends it on his own with his dogs. "I find it a heavy, heavy day," he said. "I always go and see my mum in the morning and then I generally just sit with the dogs and watch Only Fools And Horses. You can't beat the classics, I love the Royle Family too. A bit of Christmas TV with the dogs, living the dream."
Time in Australia
During his time in Australia, Pete had a blast hanging out with the I'm A Celebrity cast's family and friends. He was spotted on a boozy night out with Hollyoaks' Nick Pickard’s girlfriend and the rest of the gang. The reality star also grew close to EastEnders' Danielle Harold, who was voted out of the jungle. The pair were even pictured cosying up together at the I'm A Celebrity wrap party.
The Real Full Monty
Aside from his time on I'm A Celebrity, Pete has also been one of the stars of this year's The Real Full Monty on Channel 4. Alongside other celebrities, he stripped off to raise awareness of the need to check for signs of cancer. However, there was one unexpected guest in the audience. When asked if his mum was in the front row, Pete revealed, "I think it was more awkward for her than it was for me. She got slapped around the chops with a bollock."
Looking Forward to Time with the Pups
Now back in the UK, Pete is excited to spend time with his beloved dogs over the Christmas period. While he may not be a fan of the festive season, he's found solace in the company of his furry friends and a good dose of classic TV.
