Gino criticised Peter’s cooking at a dinner party

Peter recently confessed to The Celeb Report’s TV Mag that he had invited Gino over to his house for dinner but that things had not gone exactly to plan.

The Mysterious Girl singer said: “When I did cook for Gino, I have to say he tried to tell me my pasta was no good!”

However, Peter believes he was bluffing as he added: “He had two plates, so don’t give me that! He went back for seconds so I know he loved it.

“The Greeks and the Italians have this constant battle about how they make pasta, and the sauces that we use. The Italians say it originated there and the Greeks are like: ‘Well, we’ve got our version.’”

“But of course, he’s a chef, I’m not a chef. But then he was like: ‘No, you can’t put this in the water,’ and I was like: ‘Gino, sit down and enjoy it.’ And then he went back for seconds.”

Gino is not the only famous face that Peter has welcomed around to his for dinner as he was able to reel off a rather impressive series of A-list guests he loves to cook for.

He said: “Celebrity-wise, everyone from Tito Jackson to Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees. I’ve had some really lovely friends over
the years.”

Peter is taking part in the popular ITV cookery contest alongside Love Islander turned presenter Indiyah Polack, actress Joanna Page, Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon and boxer Chris Eubank.

Each celeb finds themselves paired up with a top-tier chef with the Aussie popstar working alongside TV favourite Rosemary Shrager.

On working with the bubbly character, Peter said: “I remember Emily said to me: ‘I hope you get teamed up with Rosemary,’ and I’d sort of heard of Rosemary before but I didn’t know too much about her.

“The second I saw her, it was a bromance without it being between two guys. It was absolutely instant.

“I always say to people, she’s the only person that can tell you off and you kinda like being told off by her! Her mannerisms are just brilliant.”

He also opened up on his home life with wife Emily and admitted that whilst she is an impressive cook herself, she does not have the same interest in food as Peter.

The star added: “Here’s an interesting thing, Emily is a great cook but she just doesn’t show that same interest as me in cooking. But where she does show interest a lot is baking and she is amazing.

“She makes the most beautiful red velvet cake, Victoria sponge cake, carrot cake, I mean she’s amazing.”
