Peter Crouch gets new TV series with his wife Abbey Clancy as he tries to save an ailing football club

FOLLOWING the success of his primetime BBC One show, Save Our Summer, Peter Crouch has landed his first ever reality show.

The former Three Lions striker and his wife Abbey Clancy, 35, will star in an eight-part, fly-on-the-wall documentary series on Discovery which will follow Peter as he attempts to change the fortunes of an ailing football club.

The show, which has the working title of Save Our Beautiful Game, will also see Peter, 40, looking into the devastating effect the coronavirus pandemic has had on grassroots football.

A source said: “Peter jumped at the chance to get on board with this series and can’t wait for everyone to see it.

“In the show Peter will be seen using his skills as a newly qualified coach to help a struggling non-league team reach the top.

“As well as using his coaching skills, he will be thinking outside the box in a bid to get fans coming through the doors.

“He’ll also be seen at home with Abbey, who will give her own take on what Peter could do to make it a success.

“It’s a really heart-warming series which will show Peter in a light never before seen by his fans.”

The eight-parter will air later this year.
