PETER Kay wowed fans as he made a rare public appearance at a charity gig on Friday night.
The Car Share funnyman, who retreated from the spotlight in 2017, made an unexpected cameo in Liverpool at his Dance for Life show in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Another fan shared this snap of Peter at the Liverpool gig
Peter, 49, had fans in hysterics as he surprised them at the M&S Bank Arena.
The comic sported a striped headband, gold tracksuit bottoms and a trackie top emblazoned with a vinyl record print.
He carried a metallic vinyl holder as he made his way on stage in a pair of yellow trainers.
His legions of admirers shared snaps of him on social media and were quick to share their joy at this rare sighting.
One fan wrote: “Just had the best night of my life at [the show]. I can’t even describe [it]. Three hours of non-stop dancing. Peter you have gone too long. Welcome back you legend.”
“Danced the night away with [Peter] and had a fantastic night” added a second.
“Dance for Life tonight was absolutely incredible! Had the best time!” chipped in a third.
Peter stepped away from the public eye in 2017, cancelling a massive tour due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.
Since then, he has only made very few appearances, and was last seen at the Ivor Novello Awards in May.
Before that he made a brief visit to the stage during a tour performance in Manchester back in April.
Peter’s latest public appearance comes after The Celeb Report reported he was planning a huge comeback.
In May, we told how Peter is making a comeback with a huge arena tour — six years after cancelling live gigs.
He has put together a new stage show which he will perform next year at top venues.
It will be the first time in 14 years that Bolton-born Peter, 48, famed for hit TV shows Car Share, Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy, has performed a live stand-up gig.
Organisers are confident the tour, including London’s O2 Arena and Manchester’s AO Arena, will be a sell-out.
