Piers Morgan reignites feud with Dan Walker with hilarious joke about his Strictly exit

PIERS Morgan reignited his ongoing feud with Dan Walker last night as he made a quip about his Strictly exit.

The BBC Breakfast presenter, 44, finally got the boot, narrowly missing out on a place in the semi finals with his partner Nadiya.

Dan has a friendly rivalry with fellow journalist Piers, 56, stemming from when they both hosted breakfast shows, with the pair regularly exchanging barbs on social media.

After this dance off against AJ Odudu, he tweeted: “Well… what a ride!

“#Strictly has been a truly wonderful experience for me. I enjoyed every second. @NadiyaBychkova is a superstar: kind, encouraging, funny, clever, the best teacher I could ever have hoped for & a great friend.

“Thanks for the support & thanks for having us.”

Piers quickly retorted: “You came 5th, mate. She needed a better pupil.”

Dan previously made it clear he wasn’t worried about what Piers thought of his dance skills.

When asked about his ups and downs with Piers, Dan replied: “Who?”

Asked if he was worried about the criticism Piers is likely to send Dan’s way after he dances, he replied with a simple: “No.”

But the presenter also admitted he missed the rivalry with Piers when he left GMB earlier this year.

He told The Celeb Report’s TV Mag: “We’re okay. I sometimes miss the back and forth – we had a little ding dong about Emma Radecanu on social media.

“Him just pontificating about how she should have acted and what was going on in her head, so I just asked him what he would have felt if she’d stormed off in a huff.

“I thought it was healthy for both programmes. I never shied away from a bit of competition and it’s good, it keeps you on your toes as well.

“I’m sure we’ll see him back on a screen sometime soon though. So I don’t miss it too much.”

Piers will be joining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and Fox News Media as part of a global TV and newspaper deal.

This will allow him to host a new TV show airing in the UK, US and Australia.

The show will be launched on the upcoming station talkTV in early 2022.
