Piers Morgan ‘returns’ to Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid in plea for viewers’ votes at the NTAs

PIERS Morgan “returned” to Good Morning Britain today in a plea for votes at the National Television Awards.

Viewers were urged to vote GMB as Best Daytime Show at the upcoming awards’ do.

The programme then played out a series of clips featuring the ex-host who was told to resign unless he apologised over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Piers was seen in a heated exchange with Health Secretary Matt Hancock before quizzing Dr Hilary Jones if he had any tattoos.

The 56-year-old then roared with laughter as one of his favourite guests – Britain’s oldest identical twins – revealed sex is their secret to long life.

Good Morning Britain is up against some of TV’s most popular shows, including This Morning, Loose Women and The Chase.

The awards ceremony – hosted by Joel Dommett – will be broadcast live from The O2 in London on September 9.

On his last appearance on Good Morning Britain, Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” of ex-Suits actress Meghan’s claims she had been refused help with her mental health while a Royal.

The rant became Ofcom’s most-complained about moment ever with tens of thousands of complaints filed – and the Duchess herself even complained to ITV.

The telly presenter, who had been on the ITV show since 2015, stormed off the show after clashing with co-star Alex Beresford over his comments.

ITV said he was “being spoken to” by bosses – but it was later revealed he had dramatically quit.

He told bosses he wouldn’t say sorry because he had a right to free speech.
