Piers Morgan says he’ll identify as a woman to get his old GMB job back and revive the ratings

PIERS Morgan said he’ll identify as a woman in order to get his old Good Morning Britain job back and revive the plummeting viewing figures.

In his latest Mail on Sunday column, Piers highlighted how ratings have dropped by nearly 75 per cent since his last show in March.

Piers Morgan has a solution to stop the GMB ratings slide

Claiming bosses are keen to partner Susanna Reid with a female co-host to save the programme, Piers had a novel solution.

He wrote: “Good Morning Britain’s tumbling ratings have plunged to their lowest ever level as just 451,000 people tuned in to Wednesday’s show with comedian Adil Ray sitting in my old chair.

“Newspaper reports today suggest ITV want Susanna Reid to have a female presenting partner to stop the rot.

“If it appeases the woke brigade, I’m prepared to identify as a woman to get the ratings back to the peak of 1.9million where I left them.”

Piers joked he’ll identify as a woman

Piers quit GMB after receiving a backlash to comments he made about Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

He suggested he didn’t believe her when she said she was suicidal while living as a royal in the UK, and the following day he had a sensational on-air clash with weatherman Alex Beresford that prompted him to storm out of the studio.

There has been a clamour ever since to find out where Piers will end up next, but he still seems to be plotting his next move.

It’s the second time in a matter of days Piers has vowed to identify as a woman.

The other being when he put his name forward to fight retired champion boxer Nicola Adams in a celebrity fight.

Nicola, whose fighting name is The Lioness, wrote on Twitter: “Which famous person would you like to see me fight ??? I know you want Piers Morgan but it needs to be a female [laughing emoji].”

It prompted mouthy Piers to reply: “I’m currently identifying as female… bring it on.”
