Pointless Celebrities viewers all had the same complaint about the latest episode of the BBC One game show.

As Saturday night’s show kicked off, many fans flocked to Twitter to have their say on the celebrity panel – with some insisting they’d never heard of any of them.

Famous faces on the show included hairdresser Nicky Clarke and Changing Rooms designer Micaela Sharp.

But a lot of viewers were less than impressed with the collection of names.

One wrote: “Not very celebrity are they #pointless #pointlesscelebrities.”

Another said: “Celebrities??? #pointless.”

And a third quipped: “Why don’t they have a #celebritypointless #pointless where they try to find anyone who can name the celebrities playing?”

Last month Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong was praised by his former co-host Richard Osman on his last day of filming.

Richard, 51, announced he would be leaving the BBC quiz show, which he co-hosts with Alexander 52, in April.

After introducing the episode, Richard launched into a heartfelt tribute. However, he hadn’t yet announced that this would be his last episode of Pointless. 

He began the emotional exchange by explaining: “I was just in an interview, and they always ask about Pointless at the end of it.”

Richard continued: “They always say, ‘And how’s Pointless?’ and they say, ‘What’s Xander like?’

“And I always say how lovely you are, and it occurred to me, I don’t tell you in person often enough.

“So I just want to say how lucky I am to work with you.”
