Beyond Paradise will be back – and with a Christmas special

The broadcaster has confirmed that another instalment is officially in the works.

And, in a twist that will delight fans, they’ve revealed it will also get a Christmas special this year.

Some five million have consistently tuned in to follow the Kris Marshall-fronted show.

The Celeb Report exclusively revealed earlier this week that Beyond Paradise would be back.

TV legend Tony Jordan has already begun work on series two.

He said: “I’ve started writing series two of Beyond Paradise.

“We had loads of stories that didn’t make the cut in season one.

“Tim Key, the producer, has a long-held ambition to film on a steam train so we’ll definitely be on a steam train in season two and Tim will be there with his little hat on!”

With series one reaching its emotional conclusion tonight on BBC One and iPlayer, fans were treated to some exotic sunshine as Humphrey Goodman visited his old stomping ground in Saint Marie.

While taking in the blue-skied vista of the Caribbean coastline, the Detective Inspector took some time away to clear his mind and consider his future in Shipton Abbott.

Beyond Paradise followed Kris as DI Humphrey Goodman after he left the tropical isle of Saint Marie – home of Death in Paradise – and set up home in the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott with his fiancée Martha.

Fan favourites such as Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman, Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd and Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams will all reprise their roles for series two.

Beyond Paradise is available to stream on iPlayer.
