Five Dates A Week will not be making a return for a third series
Channel 4 initially ordered a second series of the show which was originally titled Five Guys A Week.
The new name would reflect the change in format to include people of all sexualities and genders.
But TVZone reports that after two series on-air, the romance show will not make a return.
As part of the format, one singleton would invite five potential partners to spend a week together in a dreamy ‘love cottage’, all at the same time.
It gives the picker the opportunity to compare between the different dates at the same time.
During the show, the singleton will get to know the different partners as they whittle down the five potential partners.
A Channel 4 spokesperson confirmed to The Celeb Report that the show did not get comissioned past a second series.
They said: “The series last aired in May of last year and no subsequent series were commissioned at that point”.
Five Dates A Week is still currently available to stream on Channel 4.
This comes as the network axed a string of shows which included Danny Dyer’s Scared Of The Dark and Four Weddings amid a series of money-saving measures.
A spokesperson said: “Naked Attraction has not been decommissioned and a new series will return to Channel 4 next year.
“Scared of the Dark enjoyed a celebrated first season with excellent linear and streaming performance.
“Channel 4 is in robust health – however like all commercial broadcasters we’re taking some precautionary measures – such as rephrasing some content and production – in response to a downturn in the ad-market.
“The vast majority of our shows have not been affected.”
