Global superstar Cher teams up with UKTV for streaming service U launch

UKTV, the owner of Sky, Virgin Media, and Freeview, is shaking things up with its streaming service starting today. The company has enlisted global superstar Cher to help spread the word about the changes.

Cher takes the spotlight

Cher is front and center in the promo for UKTV’s revamped streaming platform U, which now offers nearly 8,500 hours of free content. The biggest update includes a refresh for four major channels - Drama, Dave, W, and Yesterday - all under the new U banner with new names to match.

A creative twist with Cher

In a creative twist, Cher features in the promotional campaign, singing a new version of her iconic song "I Got You Babe" while appearing in popular TV shows like EastEnders and World’s Most Dangerous Roads.

New shows on the horizon

While Cher adds star power to the launch, U is bringing more to the table with thousands of hours of free content. New shows and exclusive content are set to debut, including a comedy reality game show hosted by Jimmy Carr and the return of crime drama Whitstable Pearl.
