Ali let slip the gender of her new baby in November
She wrote on Instagram: “Happy NY
Hope you all have a lovely evening whatever you are planning. We are very much in hibernation mode and fairly sure I won’t be awake at midnight
…
“In my 34th week now…. Eeeeek!! It’s flying. Cannot wait to meet you baby girl
(but WILL wait another few weeks, so you can please stay just where you are for now!)
“Still feel like I have so much preparation to do and all I want to do is sleep and eat
Wish you all the love, luck and happiness in the world for ‘23
.”
In November, Ali accidentally let slip the gender of her and husband David O’ Mahony’s baby.
She referred to her baby as “her” during her podcast Mum Talk with Emma Jaulin, which was quickly followed by: “Ahh I’ve given it away!”
“I’m pregnant with a little girl, another little girl,” Ali revealed.
“It was bound to happen that I’d blurt it out. But we’ve known for a while.
“I don’t know why we kept it a secret, it was just one of those things we kept quiet about for a bit.”
“So, Isla’s going get a sister! That’s magical,” Emma replied.
In September, Ali revealed that she was five months pregnant, saying: “It’s exciting but scary.”
The one-time Strictly star, who played Becca Dean in the Channel 4 soap, is already mum to daughter Isla, two.
She broke her happy news on Instagram and told fans that her little girl is “going to be a big sister”.
She added: “@davidcomahony and I are over the moon to finally share our exciting news.”
Ali and David took part in a photo shoot and interview with OK! Magazine in which Ali revealed: “Isla is so excited.
“Toddlers have no concept of time, so every day she’s asking, ‘Is the baby here yet?’”
The couple married in 2019 and welcomed Isla a year later at the start of lockdown.
Speaking about their second child arriving in more normal conditions, Ali said: “I think it will be a bit bittersweet in a way.
“We’ll be able to enjoy the things that we couldn’t do last time – our families missed out on the first few months of Isla’s life – so I think there will be a bit of grief for what we couldn’t do before.
“At the same time, we were in our tiny little bubble in our flat in London and there was a beauty and simplicity in that.”
