Pregnant Sarah Platt rushed to hospital as husband Adam Barlow makes shock discovery in Coronation Street

ADAM Barlow was over the moon when he was confirmed as the father of his wife Sarah Platt’s baby.

But next week in Coronation Street, the couple face another hurdle and the mother-to-be is rushed to hospital.

Sarah Platt (portrayed by soap legend Tina O’Brien) was stunned when she found out she was pregnant and faced a huge dilemma as she struggled to figure out who could be the father of her baby due to her recent affair with Damon Hay.

Her husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), on the other hand, went above and beyond to get rid of his rival Damon Hay, determined to build a family with Sarah.

However, the paternity of the unborn baby remained a tough subject to approach for the couple until Sarah seemingly confirmed that Adam was the father.

Unfortunately for her, Sarah’s lies are piling up on top of one another and with more missed calls from Damon – who was previously presumed dead after Adam unleashed Niall on him – she’s left on edge.

Her other half’s cagey behaviour has her fearing the worst in scenes airing next week on ITV but her uncle Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) tries to reassure her by claiming he’s planning a surprise gender reveal.

As the Barlows and Platts gather in the bistro for the party, Sarah feigns surprise.

In front of her guests, Sarah opens the balloon box to find out the gender of her baby – what will be the outcome of the party?

While this remains to be seen, Adam soon grows tired of Sarah’s lying after another shocking discovery.

Sarah calls on him insisting they need to talk, desperate to save her marriage.

As Adam rails at her, Sarah is suddenly hit with stomach pain.

Seeing Sarah getting into a taxi to take herself to hospital, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) lets Adam know.

Horrified, as he thought she was faking her pain, Adam goes after her.

Sarah later awaits news in the hospital but could she be in for a devastating shock?

Will Damon try and reach out to her again?

As mentioned above, Damon found himself in a dangerous situation when Adam turned to Niall and told him the Weatherfield thug was planning to grass on him to the police.

Terrified for his life, Damon left the cobbles to go on the run and Adam has been on tenterhooks thinking he could have been murdered.

Prior to his departure, Damon had tried to get in touch with Sarah but his efforts were vain.

Adam agreed to being present for Sarah throughout her pregnancy if he was proven to be the father – could he change his mind?
