This Morning once again lived up to its reputation for chaos as a presenter was unexpectedly dragged into a lake by a huge dog. Dr Scott Miller, a well-known vet who often appears on the show, found himself in a hilarious situation during a segment showcasing how Newfoundland dogs rescue people in water.
Pulled in during live demonstration
During the live demonstration, Dr Scott Miller was pulled into the water by one of the powerful dogs, much to the disbelief and amusement of presenters Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary. As Scott held onto one of the dogs from the edge of Wyboston lakes near Bedford, a trainer behind him took a tumble, prompting the determined pooch to make a dash to try and rescue them. In the process, Scott was dragged into the water alongside the trainer.
Laughter and appreciation
The unexpected incident left Holly gasping with laughter as she exclaimed, "Oh no, Dr Scott! Someone behind you has just been dragged in!" Dermot, equally impressed by the dogs' rescue instincts, said, "God it works, doesn't it! The dogs are like 'get in!' Quick to rescue someone else!"
A wet but good-humored recovery
Amidst the laughter, Scott quickly scrambled out of the water, apologizing for getting his microphone equipment wet. Despite the mishap, he managed to see the funny side of the situation and told Holly and Dermot, "I’m here at Wyboston lakes to have a swim with them! And the best part about it is you get a little bit of a cuddle or a massive bear hug!"
Not the first on-air mishap
This incident comes hot on the heels of another on-air mishap, where Holly was caught off guard by Ferne McCann's daughter having a "poo explosion" just moments before going on air the previous day.
