Popular TV anchor Laura Kuenssberg has been replaced on her own politics show for the third week running
A top BBC show, Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, has once again undergone a significant presenter shake-up. The popular TV anchor, Laura Kuenssberg, 47, has been replaced on her own show for the past three weeks. This week, BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Victoria Derbyshire, 55, will be taking the helm.
Victoria Derbyshire Returns to Take Charge of Weekend Politics Programme
Victoria Derbyshire is set to return as the host of the weekend politics-centred programme. She first replaced Laura earlier this month as the show travelled to the Labour Party Conference. Now, she will be back to guide viewers through the latest political developments.
What to Expect on Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg
During a preview on BBC Breakfast, Victoria Derbyshire revealed some of the guests that viewers can look forward to on the show. Among them are Israel's former Prime Minister and Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick, who will be joining the conversation. The programme promises to offer insightful discussions and analysis.
Laura Kuenssberg's Absence and BBC Support
Laura Kuenssberg has taken a break from the BBC One programme following the Party Conference season. On October 8, she was first replaced on her show due to "personal reasons." With the full support of BBC bosses, she was given time off and missed the episode as it travelled to Liverpool for the Labour Party Conference. This will be her third show missing, as she was also replaced by Victoria last week on October 15.
A Trailblazer in Political Journalism
Laura Kuenssberg made history as the first woman to hold the position of political editor at the BBC. After succeeding Nick Robinson, she confirmed in December 2021 that she was stepping down as the BBC's Political Editor for a "senior presenting and reporting role" at the Corporation. In March 2022, it was announced that Laura would be replacing Andrew Marr as the host of BBC One's flagship Sunday morning politics show.
Speaking about her new role, Laura said, "I couldn't be more delighted. For decades, Sunday morning has been the moment to explore the events that shape us and to challenge and listen to our politicians. It's an honor to take the chair for that conversation in the 2020s."
With Victoria Derbyshire back in the presenter's seat, viewers can expect a thought-provoking and informative episode of Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg.
