TRIBUTES have today poured in for a popular Sky News and ITN presenter after his tragic death aged just 56.
Rae Stewart has been remembered as a “brilliant” journalist after his death following an “illness”.

The experienced presenter had been a reporter for more than 20 years, previously working as a journalist for ITN, Sky News and GMTV.
He also worked as head of comms for the Iraq Inquiry, also working as the press secretary to Nick Clegg.
Journalist and broadcaster Stephen Jardine wrote a tribute for Stewart, saying: “My best friend Rae Stewart has died after an illness. He was just 56. Rae was a proud son of Tain and a brilliant journalist, author, husband, father and friend.
“All my thoughts today are with him and his beloved family.”
And Mike Edwards OBE tweeted: “Desperately sad to learn of the passing of Rae Stewart – a friend, colleague and fellow Highlander. A cracking lad taken far too soon.”
Third colleague Gabriel Milland, who previously worked at No 10, said: “Extremely sad news about Rae Stewart.
“A friend and colleague in the parliamentary press gallery and then in Whitehall. The driest of wits.”
Stewart had published a novel, The Vibe, in 2017.
He took early retirement in 2022 due to ill-health.
