EVERY princess needs her Prince Charming, and Anne Hathaway was no exception in the film which made her a household name – Princess Diaries.
Her character Mia soon fell for her best mate Lilly’s geeky older brother Michael Moscovitz – before completely forgetting about him and falling for Chris Pine in the second movie (we don’t blame her, tbh).
It’s been 21 years since Princess Diaries came out in 2001 and the time has flown by.
So what is the actor who played Michael – Robert Schwartzman – doing now?
Rob’s not completely disappeared out of the spotlight – he’s now the lead singer in a rock/pop band called Rooney.
Now 39 years old, the star is a far cry away from his fresh faced look, with an impressive beard and long hair.
He boasts over 56,000 followers on his Instagram account, @robertschwartzman, where he shares regular life updates.
Rob is also a father of two, and recently posted an adorable snap of himself holding his twin sons Lennox and Nino.
He is married to wife Zoey Grossman, who gave birth to their twins back in late 2020.
She works as a photographer and has shot incredible campaigns and covers, such as Hailey Bieber’s Allure Magazine cover and Gigi Hadid for Vogue Brazil.
After finding fame in Princess Diaries, Robert went onto play himself in an episode of The O.C., in 2004, and star in a couple of short films.
He also appeared in 2007 film Look, which was shot entirely through surveillance cameras, and 2017 comedy It Happened in LA.
Robert comes from a Hollywood family. He’s related to Nicholas Cage, who is his uncle’s cousin, and his brother is Rushmore actor Jason Schwartzman.
While his uncle is Godfather and Apocalypse Now director Francis Ford Coppola.
He actually formed Rooney in his junior year of high school – way back in 1999.
Speaking to Seventeen magazine in the early noughties, he said: “Really, it was all about my band even before I got the part in (Princess Diaries).
“I’ve always been real close to film world. I love film, and I will do things in film, but music is more satisfying. It feels more like me.”
The band have toured with Weezer and The Strokes, and had a song on Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour 2004 soundtrack.
