MORE recent Emmerdale fans will probably remember Scott Windsor being played by hunky actor Ben Freeman.
But the son of Viv and Reg Dawson, half-brother of Donna and step-brother of Kelly was originally played by child star Toby Cockerell.
During his time on the ITV soap, Toby’s character fell in with a bad crowd who forced him to steal from the post office and threaten his sisters.
He was also up at Kim Tate’s stables with his family on the infamous night a plane crashed there and destroyed half the village – known as the Beckindale Air Disaster in the show’s history – in December 1993.
Toby, then 16, played Scott from August 1993 until December 1996, when his character left Emmerdale to join the army.
But whatever happened to the child actor after he departed the set of the famous Yorkshire village?
According to his LinkedIn profile he trained at Anna Scher Theatre School from 1986 to 2000 and studied at The Actors Centre London and New York between 1997 and 2000.
His IMDB profile states Toby went on to perform in theatres all around England, including the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
His performance in Henry V during the opening season at the Globe, alongside Mark Rylance, earned him a commendation for the Ian Charleson Best Young Actor Award.
Toby then moved to Los Angeles and up until 2007 he was still acting, appearing in independent films and one episode of One Tree Hill.
In 2000 he reportedly married Lindsay Zir, an LA-based fashion stylist and costume designer, but the couple divorced two years later.
His most recent acting credit is from this year in miniseries 13 Seconds in Kent State, in which he played Louis Schroeder.
Now age 45 and married again, having moved back to his hometown London, since 2014 Toby has worked as a product manager at his wife’s company, Zoe Rene Limited.
Zoe Rene is a make-up artist, individual eyelash trainer and author of Your Mother Should Have Told You – and judging by his social media accounts, she’s fully endorsed by her hubby.
